Hi there! I’m Sara Rain and I’m a British surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Japan.
My style and inspiration are ever-changing but the common thread that ties my designs together is my skillful use of colour and playful touch. I believe the best designs begin with play and end with careful attention to detail. Good things take time and I value taking that time to create something magical and worth keeping for decades to come.
For the past few years, I’ve been predominantly working as a freelance senior design contractor for a stationery company and have worked closely with my client to create countless beautiful collections of washi tapes and sticker sets.
You can usually find me working at my local co-working space in the small city of Hamamatsu, where I enjoy chatting with fellow creatives during my tea breaks.
