Hi there, I’m Charla Pettingill! I’m an illustrator, surface designer, professor, and SCAD alumna based in Savannah, GA. I have over 15 years of industry experience creating illustrations and patterns for magazines, books, gift wraps, greeting cards, fabric, floor coverings, and more!
I specialize in colorful, illustrious patterns that tell stories, as well as cheerful, optimistic illustrations. Most of my work is created digitally using raster art, but I also work in vector art and gouache. I’m inspired by the beauty found in everyday moments around my low country home and happy childhood memories from my time growing up in East Tennessee. When I’m not drawing, I’m exploring the shores and marshes of coastal Georgia or curled up on my porch with my cats and a coffee. Some of my past clients include PBS Fabrics, L’Occitane, and Denik.
