Amber Aü is a children’s book author and illustrator, originally from Hong Kong and now based in the UK. She is passionate about creating fun, heartwarming picture books—stories she wishes she had growing up. Though she didn’t have access to many picture books as a child, she rediscovered them a few years ago and fell in love with the medium. Amber loves how picture books often serve as a child’s first introduction to the world of art, and her own illustrations often feature whimsical and quirky food characters.
Having once experienced a complicated love-hate relationship with food, Amber found comfort and healing by drawing food characters in her journal. This creative outlet led her to discover her passion for illustration. Her work draws inspiration from the diverse cuisines, cultures, and people she encounters. Alongside her food-themed art, Amber also enjoys illustrating maps, buildings, and people from various cultural backgrounds.
