Colorful floral art inspired by native Australian blooms

carlaelliscreative.etsy.com

I’m an illustrator and surface pattern designer living in Geelong, Australia. My work is bright, textured and playful work and largely inspired by nature. I began selling my watercolour artwork on Etsy around 10 years ago. Since then, I’ve had multiple highs and lows with my online shop and am now focussing on creating wall art, particularly for children’s spaces.

As my career evolved and I began moving into surface pattern design, I also started selling my patterns on Spoonflower. Spoonflower has been a wonderful avenue for selling my work on fabric, wallpaper and home decor. I love creating colourful floral prints and I always have a particular fondness for native Australian flowers – inspired by the flora around me.

My work is bold and aims to make a statement in the home, with vibrant colours yet with a delicate feel.

I have a store where you can purchase my art prints in a range of sizes. My prints are professionally produced in the UK, using FSC certified paper. I aim to minimise my environmental impact by also using biodegradable and/or recycled materials and print in small runs to reduce waste.

Playful art and stationery bringing creativity into daily life

jojimenez.com

I’m a Chilean artist and illustrator. Since 2014, I’ve been independently managing my career through various art and design projects. In 2018, I launched my first stationery collection under my brand “Jo Jiménez” with the goal of democratizing access to art.

It didn’t make sense to me that someone needed a big budget just to connect with something that inspired them, so these products became a way to reach a broader audience—people who love art and want to bring it into their everyday lives. With that in mind, I opened my online store.

It was amazing because it also opened the door to working with other brands that choose my work for their products. That allowed me to explore new product categories, which is always really fun, because I send over my files and they come back transformed into everyday objects—and that never stops amazing me.

Botanical and surreal illustrations blending art and science

connieresch.com

My interest in drawing and artmaking began in early childhood. I was raised on a farm in a small town on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I explored the outdoors extensively and connected with the animals, focusing on school and drawing. Later, I pursued a degree in biology and established a career in laboratory science, all while holding art as my creative outlet and pastime. My life eventually took many transformative turns after relocating to the USA, starting a family, and struggling through the isolation of the global pandemic. The need for self-expression through art intensified at each turn, propelling me to dig deeper into my artistic pursuits and discover my passion for illustration.

Drawing from my scientific background, my work is a fusion of history, natural science, and traditional art mediums. I find my inspirations in natural science, botanical illustration, and surrealism. Vintage ephemera also holds a special place in my creative process – as does portraiture.

Hand-inked floral etchings inspired by folklore and myth

charlotteday.art

Having trained with the Royal Horticultural Society and worked as a commercial illustrator for the best part of 20 years, I discovered printmaking as a personal practice. It allows me to explore the connections between plants and the stories we tell about them and my floral etchings draw on folklore, myth, and magic – where each flower or plant has a symbolic or narrative significance.

The prints are inked by hand in limited editions and subtle variations give every piece its own unique character.

Rebecca Zwanzig

Bold, retro botanical art inspired by nature, nostalgia, and design

highwestwild.com

Hi, I’m Rebecca Zwanzig, the artist behind High West Wild, a Portland-based studio creating bold, retro-inspired illustrations rooted in folk art, nature, and nostalgia. I was raised in Kentucky, shaped by the hills, fields, and overgrown backroads of the bluegrass state. Later, I spent years in the mossy woods of Washington and the sunbaked high deserts of Northern Nevada. Those places, wet pine needles, soft rain, cool mountain air, wide open skies, faded motel signs, and dusty sagebrush, are stitched into everything I make.

My work is grounded in memory and design. I’m drawn to vintage textiles, scientific botanical art, and the groovy typography of the ’60s and ’70s. I use those influences to invent my own version of nature; imagined botanicals, stylized creatures, and floral forms that sit between the real and the remembered.

My color palettes lean into 1970s earth tones mixed with the saturated warmth of Pacific Northwest autumns: burnt orange, ochre, rust, dusty pink, olive green, and golden brown.

High West Wild is about storytelling, place, and care. I make art that speaks for the natural world and for those pushing toward equity. My work is personal, political, and rooted in the idea that beauty can be a form of resistance. It’s a love letter to the land, to the people who pay attention, and to the power of good design.
