Ciao! I am Valeria, an Italian Illustrator and Surface Designer currently based in New York City, living on an island (I really love islands!).
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Milan Politecnico, but after I graduated I decided to specialize in Graphic Design and Illustration, to freely express all the ideas I had in my tireless mind.
I work with many clients and publishing houses. My work was selected in 2013, 2014, 2018, and 2019 for the Italian Illustrator Annual. In 2018 I exhibited at the prestigious New York Society of Illustrators.
I worked both as a freelance and in-house graphic designer for many years, and lately, I focus more on Surface Design and Illustration. You can find some of my illustrations on art prints, home decor items, apparel, tech accessories, and more: I partnered with a variety of brands and had the chance to see some of my designs sold at Target and Indigo.
I mostly use Adobe Illustrator to create my illustrations: vector is my cup of tea! I can really express easily what I have in my mind using Adobe Illustrator and it helps a lot when I need to create repeating patterns or adapt designs to different products. Lately, I enjoy a much more minimal approach, where I can use essential shapes and bold colors to express my ideas on paper (or screen!). The world is already pretty complicated, and I really like the idea of simplifying things and bringing some beauty into everyday life.
