Marine Coutroutsios likes to define herself as a daydreamer making editorial and book illustrations.
For editorial illustration, she plays with concepts and narratives to create a space between text and image in which readers can project their own understanding, weave in their own questions and thus react emotionally to what they are reading.
For children’s books, she creates worlds we can step into, filled with details, like an immersive experience.
Since graduating in Visual Arts, Marine had several careers. She worked as a Sculptor, an Interior Designer, a Paper Engineer and then as an Illustrator when she came back to France after living several years in Australia.
Now surrounded by mountains, when she’s not drawing you’ll find her hiking, looking for mountains goats and wild flowers.
