There’s a story from an early childhood behind this image. When I was 3 a tiny blue piano magically appeared in our village house. My granny told me she found it in the forest, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was so excited about it and imagined creatures who might have played the piano in the forest.
Inspired by these memories I made this drawing at night and in the morning I told mum about my memories. She told me someone left the piano near the trash bin and they found it there. Such a disappointment! I’m just glad they told me the truth after I had drawn my real memories.
Though my husband is sure that the real source of inspiration was the Keane’s music video “Somewhere only we know”. Keane is one of my favourite music bands, so maybe they could have influenced my art subconsciously.
