Taryn Johnson is an illustrator and animator based in New England. She specializes in illustrations with joyful color, efficient shapes, and a playful appreciation of nature. Drawing from her background in animation and design, she embraces a graphic style that allows shape, color, and composition to take the lead. Inspired by wildlife and the sea, her art invites viewers, especially children, to find joy, curiosity, and wonder in the small and simple things.
Taryn collaborates with clients worldwide in children’s publishing, educational games, merchandise, apparel, and animation. Previous clients include Scholastic, Macmillan, Little Bee Books, Harvard University, Nickelodeon, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
When she’s not creating, Taryn can be found in nature: surfing in the ocean or hiking snowy mountains.
