Sunny Eckerle is a freelance illustrator living and working in Portland, Oregon. She grew up in southern Colorado, began her illustration career in Brooklyn, New York, and now considers the Pacific Northwest home.
Sunny focuses on editorial, lifestyle, and commercial illustrations that utilize a design-inspired shape language and bold, expressive lines. The work is understated but playful and layered. She loves translating the details of day-to-day life into her artwork, showing affection and attention to simple things that are often overlooked.
She’s worked with clients such as The New York Times, Nike, Muji, Real Simple, Starbucks, and Chronicle Books.
