Hello, my name is Sally Darby and I am an illustrator and surface pattern designer from the U.K.
Ever since I was a child I have loved creating characters and I am lucky enough to be doing this as my job today. I love creating fun and vibrant characters for a range of uses, from greeting cards to fabric collections and children’s books.
My artwork is full of energy and happiness with cute and playful characters. I aim to bring joy to other people and hopefully make them smile. My inspiration comes from nature documentaries, drawing animals at zoos, botanical gardens, theatre shows, and folk art.
I always try to include a narrative in my work and can imagine my characters living their lives within my pictures.
