Before I speak about my illustration, I wanted to share a little bit about my work and how it all started.
When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Ariel, Little Mermaid, so I was drawing them all the time. After a while, I began to prepare for art school and later for academy, so I’ve stopped drawing them and started doing some more “serious” stuff.
Not long so long after that, I got back drawing my mermaids, but this time with legs, because they are my “Mermaids on the ground”, characters that tell my story. Stories about childhood, about growing up, happiness, fears, love etc.
This illustration is the latest one (at least at the moment I’m writing this post) and symbolize my inner fights. Not so long ago I had very sad and stressful time in my life and soon after that, one big happy moment that totally changed me. This is a story about struggle, about drowning in your own sadness, but also a moment when you get up, when you not afraid to ask for help, when you finally find piece.
There’s two characters here, symbolizing two different feelings, and in the end, they combining in one soul, passing through like a pink sea.
