I’m Francesca, aka Yupcat. I’m a self-taught illustrator and surface pattern designer based in the countryside that still holds its ground on the edges of Milan, Italy.
My work starts with pencil sketches and finishes digitally, trying to keep that handmade softness throughout. I draw from what’s around me: my veggie garden, wildlife, wildflowers through the seasons… with a touch of magic. My style is playful and whimsical. I love creating characters and stories and putting them into a pattern. I specialize in florals, animals, and storytelling-rich collections for fabric, home décor, stationery, and games.
I work across licensing and print-on-demand. I love collaborating with brands that care about kindness, sustainability, and telling good stories through pattern.
