Hi! I’m Dorothea, a Hungarian illustrator and designer currently based in Budapest. I’ve studied and worked across London, Madrid, Norway, and Budapest, with each place shaping the way I see the world and influencing my work.
My illustration practice is characterised by vibrant, warm colours, rich handmade textures, playfulness, and a blend of nostalgia and mystery. Inspired by my travels across Latin America and Scandinavia, my Eastern European heritage, folklore, mid-century modern design, music, nature, and traditional artisanship, I create work that brings together the many places, cultures, and experiences that have influenced me.
I have worked on a variety of projects, including packaging, branding, editorial, textile, stationery, and advertising campaigns. Through my work, I hope to bring people a little joy and comfort, a touch of magic, and a brief escape from the everyday.
